Dublin School of Mandarin Chinese has been approved as the Overseas Compatriot School from the Department of Foreign Affairs in Taiwan.
Our school is delighted to announce that text books, workbooks and CDs will be founded by the Department.
Our school has carefully selected the best text books published by Sky Mandarin and approved by both Dept of Education and the Overseas Compatriot Affairs Commission in Taiwan. The advantage of this series of books is that they include both Traditional and Simplified Chinese characters as well as both zhu yin and pinyin phonetics system to help our young learners to master the language. I've always wished my children could learn both systems and these books turn my dream into reality!
Please send us an email at liufurlong@gmail.com for the application form.

Course Tutor:
Evan Liu Furlong has completed and been awarded two certificates in Teaching Mandarin Chinese as a second language from both TLI and Chung Hwa Correspondence School, OCAC. Evan also has a Fetac Level 5 qualification in Childcare.
Course Proposal:
Aim:
To encourage our next generation to have the interests in the Chinese culture and to have the ability to listen, to speak, to read, to type and to write in Mandarin Chinese. I personally think this skill will be the best present I could ever give to my own children (they are aged 5 and 6, both bilingual). Who knows, our children may even be able to get a great mark for the HSK, hanyu shuiping kaoshi (China) or TOP, test of proficiency-huayu (Taiwan).
Methods:
Through play, singing, dancing, games and different activities that make learning Mandarin Chinese fun and easy for our children. I want to make it as much child/student centered as possible because each child is different and so is their learning styles.
The class routine: warm up activity, main class, pinyin, singing or dancing, pinyin, break time, conversation, writing, story and video. From time to time, there’ll be workshops of arts and crafts, cooking etc. throughout the year according to our cultural events.
Examination:
There will be a simple exam at the end of each year.
In addition, a certificate will be awarded to every child who has attended 80% of the classes. The results are made of the following criteria: attendance, weekly star chart, home work and exam at the end of the year.
Note: parents are also welcome to stay with children for the first few classes if it’s not affecting other children in the class.
